In response to concerns of social distancing among Front Porch residents and older adults everywhere, and inspired by the creativity and imagination of our community frontline care staff, the Front Porch Center for Innovation and Wellbeing (FPCIW) developed Staying Home, Staying Connected, a resource guide to help engage and connect our older adults through technology.

The resource guide provides suggestions on applying some technology solutions to promote growth, connectivity, and social connections during a time of uncertainty, stress, and isolation in the midst of the COVID-19 epidemic and its impact on a vulnerable population. FPCIW has developed a version of this resource for senior living providers and other senior serving organizations, and a version for direct distribution to older adult users (see below for direct links).

FPCIW plans to release updated versions and new content of this resource guide, and seeks out comments, suggestions, and other ideas to further improve this resource. Please contact Jen at JSLEE@FRONTPORCH.NET if you would like to offer additional content.

FPCIW has also created a virtual reality toolkit designed and developed for older adult users with smart phones using a simple and inexpensive viewer for a fun and engaging activity during COVID-19 social distancing. Visit our VR impact story page for more information on our Handheld VR Adventures project.

Thank you for all that you do to support the needs of older adults.
