Front Porch Center for Innovation and Wellbeing (FPCIW) is proud to announce continued support from the CTA Foundation to expand access to technology that helps older adults live with comfort, dignity and connection. This work reflects a shared belief: technology is most powerful when it supports people, strengthens independence and creates moments of joy.
The CTA Foundation works to connect older adults and people with disabilities with technologies that enhance their lives. FPCIW explores creative and meaningful ways technology can help people live and age well. Together, our missions align around access, inclusion, wellbeing and human connection.
A Partnership Rooted in Shared Purpose
For both organizations, the focus is not technology for its own sake. It is what technology makes possible. It can reduce isolation, support independence, create calm and help caregivers offer more personalized support.
This project builds on almost ten years collaboration with the CTA Foundation, including the recent Gaming to Connect project, an intergenerational gaming initiative that continues across Front Porch communities. We are grateful for the Foundation’s continued partnership and its belief in technology’s power to improve lives.

Bringing the Mission to Life
With support from the CTA Foundation, FPCIW will launch the Mobile Connections Hub. The Hub adapts FPCIW’s successful sensory room model into a portable, technology-enabled cart that can go directly to residents. It is designed for older adults who may not be able to access a dedicated multisensory space, including people living with limited mobility or hospice needs.
The Hub will include accessible consumer technology such as smart lighting, curated soundscapes, aromatherapy, immersive video and tactile comfort items, including robotic companion pets. A caregiver will be able to activate an entire routine with one voice command. That makes the experience easier to use and easier to personalize.
Values We Share
This work reflects values that both FPCIW and the CTA Foundation hold deeply. We believe innovation should be practical. It should be accessible. It should meet people where they are. We also believe strong partnerships help good ideas reach more people, especially those who may otherwise be left out of emerging technology solutions.
What Comes Next
Over the coming year, FPCIW will deploy Mobile Connections Hubs in memory care, assisted living, hospice and affordable housing communities.
We will train caregiver champions to lead their use. We will also evaluate how the Hubs support resident wellbeing and caregiver confidence.
What we learn will help shape a practical model that other organizations can adapt. That is central to the partnership. The goal is not only to launch a promising tool. The goal is to learn, share and help more communities use technology in ways that improve quality of life.
